Leaf of Life / Miracle Leaf / Air Plant

Leaf of Life / Miracle Leaf / Air Plant/ Cathedral Bells / Goethe Plant

A tropical ornamental succulent plant. The bell-shaped flowers of this plant are either red, orange or pink, and make a spectacular display. It is a low maintenance plant as it requires very little water and is drought tolerant.

The leaves can be eaten raw but have a bitter flavour. Rather chop them into a salad or smoothie.

Crushed leaves can be applied to insect bites or bruises for relief.

Leaves can be steeped to make herbal tea for respiratory issues or high blood pressure.

Propogates very easily and a sight to behold. Place a leaf on soil and from each serrated notch on the leaf a new plant will grow.

Very well-draining soil as the roots do not like too much water.

Keep the soil mulched with Pine Bark Mulch to retain moisture, protect the plant’s roots from UV damage, and keep weeds at bay.

Practice good garden hygiene (remove fallen fruit and leaves).

Watch for root rot (if overwatered) and fungal infections during wet periods.
