  • Cherry Guava Tree

    R0.00

The cherry guava, also known as the strawberry guava, is a compact, evergreen bushy shrub that makes a fantastic addition to any garden or home. In fact, it’s popular as an ornamental tree, thanks to its being a pretty plant that does well in the ground or in an indoor pot.

The small red or yellow fruit can be eaten fresh and has a sweet and tangy flavour. It is high in vitamin C, giving the immune system a wonderful boost. It’s also an important source of fibre, which keeps our digestive system healthy. In addition to making lovely fresh snacks, they can be used for sauces, jellies, drinks and jams too

Guava trees are easy to grow and can produce plenty of fruit every season. They are commonly found in tropical and subtropical areas. The fruit is light green or yellow on the outside and has a unique pink flesh with edible seeds.

    We sell the cultivar TSG2

This cultivar has been identified as the most tolerant to GWD infection/disease.

It is more resistant than other varieties and the fruit is larger with the fruit flesh darker and pinker

Guavas are incredibly nutritious as they contain high levels of antioxidants, vitamin A, vitamin C, fibre, lycopene, manganese, folate, and potassium. The fruits improve heart health and digestion. The leaves can be steeped into a tea that is very effective in easing menstrual cramps, and reduce blood sugar levels in people with type-2 diabetes.
