The picture shows our berry plant sizes as you buy them at certain times of the year. In winter they often have no leaves at all as they are dormant, and in summer they are much bigger and often fruiting already/or ready to fruit. 

Planting is always better in the winter months when they are dormant but many people do not enjoy gardening during the cold winter months. They can be planted in full summer heat as well but will require more regular watering.
