We stock the black Aronia Berry which has been cultivated and conditioned to grow in hot humid conditions and will also do well in areas that have cold frosty winters. South Africa do not have the freezing cold winters as they have in Russia/Canada etc, and therefore the plants require special cultivation in order to cope with our climate.
They are easy to grow and are very resilient, and resistant to drought, insects and diseases. They are self pollinating so no need to purchase two varieties.
Plant in full sun preferably or at least 6 hrs of sunshine a day. They are not fussy with soil but berry plants require good drainage, so clay is not advised.
To add trace elements and minerals to your soil add a small bag of our volcanic rock dust. This will ensure that your plant will grow well and your fruit will be of really good quality and size.
