Whether you plant your coffee tree indoors or out, they require a rich, well composted soil. A pot needs to be, 60cm square at least

Container grown Coffee Trees should be placed outside in a shaded area so that the white flowers can be pollinated, Spring and Autumn. Try and keep away from your tree at these times as it will have a strong Jasmine smell that attracts lots of bees. The flowers will remain for around 7 days before being replaced by tiny coffee berries. These berries need to grow for about 8 to 9 months. In this time, you will have a beautiful evergreen tree with either red or yellow berries. The colour of the berries will darken when they are ready for harvesting, roasting and grinding.

As soon as the weather changes and it becomes very cold at night, this would be the time to bring your container grown Coffee Tree indoors.
